February 22, 2012: I present my work in Los Angeles, at the New Media Caucus of the 2012 Conference of the College Art Association.

October 21, 2011: Red Rubber Bands premieres in Waveforms, a show of Midwestern sound artists.

October 6, 2011: I am presenting at the World Forum for Acoustic Ecology Conference in Corfu Greece: “Listening to the Audience, Engaging the Audience: A Multi-disciplinary Approach to Sound Installation Art”.

April 9, 2011: Favorite Chicago Sounds, my online field recordings archive, made a guest appearance at the Museum of Contemporary Art on April 9. Sounds from the archive were included in the Museum’s "Family Day,” which draws up to 800 visitors each month. Local artist Alex Chitty led children in drawing pictures to accompany the recordings. I plan to add some of these drawings to the archive’s website soon.

March, 2011: I've completed the prototype for a new kinetic sculpture, "Red Rubberbands (Hanami)". Documentation is going well, and I'll be submitting it to a number of exhibition opportunities. Fingers crossed!

January, 2011: My radio documentary National Debt (produced with Robin Amer) has been purchased, through PRX, for broadcast by KBCS 91.3 FM in Seattle.

October - December, 2010: Wail has been selected for the Prague exhibition, Decadence Now! Visions of Excess-- Erotics of Sound. The piece will be included in a listening room for sound art, and will play at the Aero Cinema November 7, 2010, prior to a screening of Blue Beard.

August 2-15, 2010: I am in residency at STEIM in Amsterdam. I am using STEIM's excellent resources to develop my new robotics-based sound installation.

May 23, 2010: I am featured on Giant Ear, the radio show of the New York Society for Acoustic Ecology. Andrea Callard produced and edited.

April, 2010: I've been invited to STEIM for a two-week artist residency in August. My plan: to develop a ballet for Roombas. Also, I received a Faculty Development Grant from Columbia College to cover the cost of the trip to Amsterdam and the hardware.

March 4, 2010: I will be giving a workshop at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. I'll be speaking on promoting one's art career through both online and offline networking. You can register for the workshop here (if you're not affiliated with SAIC, just register as a "guest").

November 25, 2009: The Loop at Columbia College did a feature story on me. Fun photos of me teaching!

November, 2009: Mechanical Tide is now permanently installed at the University of Chicago. Visitors can view it in the lobby of the James Franck Institute at 929 East 57th St.

September 9, 2009: New job! I am now a tenure-track Asst. Professor in Audio Arts & Acoustics at Columbia College.

August, 2009: Third Coast International Audio Festival has selected National Debt, for broadcast on WBEZ's weekly show, Re:Sound. I co-produced National Debt with the amazing Robin Amer.

July 14, 2009: I'm speaking at the American Library Assocation Conference. My lecture is entitled Many Stories, Many Options: Pushing Out Your Digital Content in New Ways.

May 15, 2009: Columbia College holds their annual Manifest Festival. Check out the commissioned sound pieces I made at last year's festival, on the Manifest website.

April 15, 2009: I am on a panel for the World Listening Project, as part of Columbia College's Art and Design lecture series.

January 15-March15, 2009: The Exquisite City at the Chicago Tourism Center features Favorite Chicago Sounds as the ambient soundtrack. The installation showcases over 40 local artists presenting their renditions of the city as cardboard sculpture.

March 3, 2009: I present my work at Pecha Kucha Night #8 at Martyrs', Chicago.

February 26, 2009: Reception for my new, permanent sound sculpture at the Chicago Children's Museum.
