I created this installation for Art44.46, a public art show on the theme of environmental sustainability, held Oct. 13 & 20, 2007, in Chicago's Lakeview East neighborhood.

Inspired by Tibetan Buddhist prayer wheels, I placed 8 trash cans on ball bearings which allowed them to be spun gently across the eco-friendly vinyl flooring. The cans were painted bright safety yellow to match the caution stickers on the alley's dumpsters. Passers-by were invited to paint their wishes on the cans (or we offered to do it on their behalf) and give the cans a gentle spin, activating the handbells hung inside of each can, and ensuring the wishes would come true.
