Video Documentation of (Untitled) Resonant Objects

Wood, speakers, found objects
10' x 13'
This video documents audience interaction with (Untitled) Resonant Objects, a sculpture which features 50 tiny contact speakers suspended over a pile of discarded containers. The speakers play 22 different loops of sounds recorded while playing with the objects. Because the speakers lack speaker cones, they are almost silent. However, guests are invited to select an object and place it against a speaker: instantly the object becomes a speaker and vibrates with sound. The multiple channels allow guests to "play" the piece like an instrument, adding and subtracting sounds at will.
